Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Science Hospital, also known as Sai Baba Super Speciality Hospital [Satya Shahi Baba Hospital], is a globally renowned hospital where complete free treatment is provided without any discrimination. It was established by Sai Baba on 19th January 2001 with the aim of serving humanity, and people are benefiting from this service without any hesitation.
People from various countries around the world come to these two hospitals for medical treatment. They bring their passports along with them. However, many people are unaware of how the treatment works here. Hence, this post is for the general public, especially for those who are not familiar with the intricacies of medical treatment.
Both of these hospitals provide advanced medical care. While some may be aware of this fact, many others are still unaware. Complex diseases are treated at these two hospitals without any exorbitant costs.
Navigating the healthcare system can often feel overwhelming, especially when seeking free medical treatment. If you or a loved one is considering seeking care at the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences in Bengaluru, also known as the Sai Baba Hospital, you're in for an experience that emphasizes compassion and accessibility. This hospital provides treatment for all kinds of problems. Patients from Bengal and other areas can avail themselves of numerous facilities here. Email communication is mandatory, and Aadhaar card must be carried along. It is worth mentioning that no one will charge you any money for treatment at these two hospitals. Your expenses for accommodation and food will be taken care of by the hospital authorities if you are admitted as a patient. For family members staying outside the hospital, they can choose to stay in hotels. In addition, for those who cannot afford hotel expenses, a provision has been made for them to stay at Sai Baba's Hospital for a nominal fee of 20 rupees per day.
Here’s a comprehensive overview of these criteria to help you understand who can access these services.
Eligibility Criteria for Free Treatment
1. Geographic Restrictions
The hospital primarily serves residents from specific areas in Andhra Pradesh, particularly:
Puttaparthi
Bukapattanam
Kothacheruvu
Patients from these three mandals are given priority for planned medical interventions, such as surgeries or treatment for chronic diseases. However, it’s important to note that acute conditions and emergencies are exempt from these geographic restrictions, meaning anyone facing a medical emergency can seek treatment regardless of their location.
2. Type of Medical Conditions
While the hospital provides a wide range of services, the eligibility for different types of treatments varies:
Emergency Cases: Patients with acute medical conditions can receive immediate care without geographic limitations.
Planned Treatments: For non-emergency cases, priority is given to residents of the specified mandals. This includes various surgical procedures and treatments for chronic illnesses.
3. Documentation Requirements
To access treatment, patients must provide valid identification. The following documents are generally required:
For Indian Patients: An identity card with address proof is mandatory. Accepted forms include:
Aadhaar Card
Voter ID Card
Ration Card
Any government-issued ID with an address
For Foreign Nationals: A valid passport along with a visa is required for emergency services.
4. Additional Considerations
Pilgrims and Volunteers: Individuals visiting the ashram or those who are volunteers may avail themselves of emergency care and treatment for acute illnesses, but not for chronic conditions or routine check-ups unless they meet the geographic criteria.
Discretion of Hospital Authorities: Ultimately, access to medical services is at the discretion of the hospital authorities, who assess each case individually based on their guidelines and available resources1.
Important Information for All Patients:
For patients seeking treatment at Whitefield Sai Hospital for neurology or heart conditions, it is necessary to arrive before 4:00 AM in the morning.
All patients will be provided with necessary facilities and services.
Please note that the hospital does not perform heart valve replacement surgeries.
Patients should carry all their previous medical records and identification proof.
