Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Centre for Child Heart Care, the Trust addressing the global burden of Congenital Heart Diseases.
This chain of Hospitals treats children totally Free of Cost to bring back to good health of a child’s life and gifting a healthy childhood.
This trust (Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani) began this journey by establishing the first dedicated Free of Cost Centre for Child Heart Care at Atal Nagar (previously Naya Raipur), Chhattisgarh in November 2012.
Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India inaugurated the The second centre - Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani International Centre for Child Heart Care & Research at Baghola, Palwal District, Haryana in November 2016.
The third one - Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Centre for Child Heart Care & Training in Pediatric Cardiac Skills was inaugurated in Nov 2018 in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai.
The operation cost has drastically increased to a greater extent, With the advanced medical technology and innovations, making it almost impossible for people to pay high bills during critical and emergency situations. The medical charges in private hospitals are high, so the poor people are prefering the local government hospital only for less charge or cost as this is the only hope for them. In some scenarios, the expenses can even go high considering the type of treatment for a patient.
As per the survey conducted by the The government-sponsored Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram, around 8,000 children in Maharashtra are in danger zone as they need urgent heart care or procedures.
The new hospital in Mumbai’s Kharghar will provide free of cost treatment to the patients, it's also important to know that it will not have any billing counter. The treatments include surgery and medicines, for those children suffering from alarming heart problems. People who badly needed this are much happier now with the hospital’s ethics.
Just for your information, BMC-run Sion and KEM hospitals are among the few large public facilities where heart procedures are done at a subsidised fee. The cost of these type of surgeries is very expensive in private hospitals, ranging up to Rs 10 lakh whereas the government hospitals charge around Rs 1.5 lakh.
The good news is that, Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital located in Kharghar don't charge anything from the economically backward sections of the society as they cannot afford to pay for expensive surgeries.
The Kharghar hospital has two modular operating theatres, two heart-lung machines, a blood bank and 40 ICU beds for post-operative care.

No words to say ... my daughter gets a new life here. This is not only a hospital but a place where people think about people. I hope one day India will be like this hospital's environment, where people help each other without knowing each other. No one cares about religion caste color. The only motive is to help each other. Doctors and staffs are so cooperative. I m always thankful to them.

Healing Hearts: Charitable Trusts Offering Free Heart Surgeries Bring Hope to the Underprivileged
In a world where healthcare often comes at a high cost, there are shining beacons of hope that extend a helping hand to those in need. Charitable trusts, both independent and those affiliated with renowned hospital chains, are making significant strides in providing free heart surgeries for children and underprivileged individuals. This heartfelt initiative is not just about medical procedures; it's about mending broken hearts and transforming lives.
The modus operandi of these trusts is both inspiring and remarkable. They set up camps across different regions, reaching out to underprivileged children plagued by congenital heart disorders. These disorders often necessitate urgent surgical intervention, and these trusts play a crucial role in identifying, assessing, and directing these young souls to hospitals where free heart surgeries await.
The challenges in rural areas extend beyond the medical aspect. Misconceptions and fears surrounding congenital heart ailments often cloud judgment. However, these trusts deploy a team of dedicated professionals, including experienced doctors, to dispel myths and educate communities about the risks of such diseases. Their mission is not only to heal physically but also to empower families with knowledge that can dispel fear and pave the way for a healthier future.
Recent research and surveys underscore the impact of these initiatives, revealing the positive outcomes for thousands of underprivileged children who have undergone free heart surgeries. From initial investigations to post-operative care, these trusts cover all aspects of the medical journey, leaving no room for compromise in the quality of service.
