Welcome to RECENT CMC VELLORE Updates: Navigating Doctor Appointments and Treatments! In this guide, we will explore the recent changes and procedures for accessing medical services at CMC VELLORE. As a premier healthcare institution, CMC VELLORE is committed to providing the best possible care to its patients. With the evolving healthcare landscape, it is important to stay informed about the latest updates regarding doctor appointments and department locations. Whether you are a new patient or a returning one, this guide will help you navigate through the process of seeking medical attention at RECENT CMC VELLORE.
Online advance booking facility:
For CMC Vellore, we can avail the convenience of private/general doctor appointments through https://clin.cmcvellore.ac.in. Once you book online, you will receive your hospital number (patient ID).
If you go for spot booking, you will have to fill out an offline form to obtain your hospital number.
Current booking facility if not available online:
You can make a spot/advance booking for doctor appointments by paying a private fee through Alpha Clinic (Cyber Gate) based on availability, if you are unable to find any online appointment.
Counter 492 for date change/spot booking:
If you want to change the appointment date or if you do not get an appointment in your desired department, you can visit counter 492 for immediate date change/booking (for up to 10 days from the current date).
If the doctor refers you for any tests or asks you to come back on a specific date, make sure the doctor has booked all your tests/revisit appointments online by mentioning your hospital number.
Test reports and medical reports:
There is no practice of issuing prescriptions when you visit the doctor. You need to request each doctor to issue you a prescription slip for which you need to pay a fee and present the slip at the concerned department's office along with the registered post receipt (if required). The department will send the reports by mail.
Please note that if, during the first visit, the doctor asks you to come back for further tests or a follow-up appointment, you will not receive a slip for medical reports during the first appointment. You will only receive the medical report (doctor's comments and test results) once you have completed the tests and had a follow-up with the doctor.
Payment through ATM counter:
If, during the doctor's visit, they upload/book your tests and you see the date of the online appointment, you can make the payment online or through the ATM counter and collect the receipt from the attached printer at the ATM counter.
CHRIS CARD facility:
CHRIS CARD is an ID card for patients used for queuing for all payments. Please refer to the CMC Vellore website for detailed information about this facility.
Acceptability and fees for X-ray/MRI/Scan outside CMC:
If CMC doctors accept previous X-rays, MRI, CT scan reports from outside centers/hospitals, they will provide you with a slip/receipt for payment. The films will be scanned and stored in their records online.
Emergency (based on my personal experience):
Doctors will see you within 7-8 minutes of reaching the emergency and provide immediate medical attention to alleviate your pain while waiting in the queue. After that, the doctor will examine you and then refer you to the concerned department for further treatment.
Outpatient follow-up:
After your initial consultation, if the doctor advises you to visit again for a follow-up, you can book the appointment online or through the counter mentioned earlier (counter 492). It is recommended to mention your hospital number for all online appointments related to tests, consultations, or re-evaluations.
Health Insurance:
If you have health insurance coverage, please ensure that you provide the necessary details and documentation during the registration process to avail the benefits and facilitate direct settlement.
COVID-19 guidelines:
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it is mandatory to wear masks, maintain physical distancing, and follow all safety protocols while visiting the hospital. Please cooperate with the hospital staff and adhere to the guidelines for the safety of everyone.
